Breaking into Linux and wisdom from a VC
This month had arguably the most hail I’ve seen in my life where I live. It makes for lots of indoors time for reading (amongst other things).
My main read while training on the exercise bike in the mornings was “The Almanac of Naval Ravikant” by Eric Jorgenson. The rest of the time was spent on “Linux Basics for Hackers” by OccupyTheWeb.
Aside from a high level overview, it will be tough to give an in depth breakdown of Linux Basics because the majority of the book has you following along with various exercises done in Kali Linux. But, I will do my best.
The Almanac of Naval Ravikant by Eric Jorgenson
Naval Ravikant is an entrepreneur, investor, and philopsopher who has captivated the world with his principles for building wealth and creating long-term happiness.
It is primarly broken down into 4 sections:
- Building wealth
- Building good judgement
- Learning happiness
- Saving yourself
The common theme in all these areas, is that there are underlying skills you can learn to increase your efficiency in each of the domains. Yes, you can even learn how to be happier.
