I did this, went from personal training to IT working fully remote making substantially more money than as a trainer.
Here’s what helped me:

1. Come to the conclusion that you actively hate where you are now. If you are only dissatisfied or not unhappy you won’t have enough drive to keep going when it gets tough.

2. Spend some time every day (even just 30-60 minutes) working on the skills that would be applicable in your new field to make sure it’s something you will actually like doing.

3. Have some money saved up if possible before making the switch, as the transition will likely take longer than you want it to. Having that cash stash will take some unnecessary weight off your shoulders (might have to live quite frugally for a bit though).

I will say it’s 100% worth it though! Nobody should be stuck in a career/job they hate.
