It’s OK To Not Have It All Figured Out

Nowadays there seems to be an infatuation with “having it all figured out” so you can achieve your wildest dreams. I would argue this is largely due to how captivated we are with social media, which is just a platform for people to post their highlights and talk about “living their best life”.

When we see this constant stream of other people’s highlights we can’t help but compare our lives to their life (at least a little bit). It seems like they know something we don’t or they have something we don’t that is allowing them to live it up and have a blast.

However, I’m here to tell you that it is totally ok (and normal) to not have it all figured out.

In fact, nobody really ever has it all figured out, especially not the people you see in your social media feeds. When I was a personal trainer back in the day, I vividly remember one day training a client’s 87 year old father and him saying that he made a lot of mistakes over the course of his life, and he still does. In fact, he said that at 87 years old he was still trying to figure out how to be a better dad!

Now, imagine being 21, or 30, or 50 and thinking you “need to have it all figured out”. You don’t, and you won’t. The key is to learn as you go from the…
