Life, Happiness, and nudging others
Somehow, my wife and I managed to find one of the best sushi places we’ve been to (and we have been to many across the world). Perhaps due to being right next to the beach so all fish is freshly caught the day of preparation, or maybe because of the environment we are in which has us quite relaxed and loose.
Towards the end of dinner, we got to discussing goals and what we would like to achieve over the course of this year. I mentioned to her that I am working towards process based goals (as opposed to outcome based goals like make x dollars, or go to y amount of places for example), and a few months ago I came across a video from Charisma on Command titled something along the lines of “5 behaviors that are making people dislike you”. One of the behaviors was that you talk about yourself too much thinking you are being relatable, but from the other person’s point of view it comes off as self-centered. As soon as I saw this, I immediately knew I was doing this…
So, I told my wife that over the course of this year I would like to start getting better at this, and like she does so often after a deep conversation with her, she caused me to start questioning my daily behaviors.
From my point of view, I want people to be better humans and live up to their full potential. However I never force…
