A fine line we all walk

If you are a human, and you are alive, then every day you take risks in some way shape or form. You can’t avoid it. Let’s first define risk so we are all on the same page:

Risk is putting yourself in a situation involving exposure to danger.

However, the issue in today’s society is that we tend to associate risk with the potential negative outcomes, instead of focusing more on what positive can come out of a risk. This is primarily due to the human instinct of fear, because many people don’t know how to properly interpret the “danger” part of it.

“Danger” is very subjective, and the things our subconscious brain tells us are dangerous are in fact not truly dangerous. Some things that might be considered dangerous by our brain and to be avoided are:

  • Losing a job
  • Having an uncomfortable conversation
  • Forcing yourself to write or study

Whatever your danger is, your brain will find a way to try and steer you away from it. Sometimes though, you need to lean into it.

This is not me saying

you need to start being reckless and seeking out things that are actually dangerous like dancing in…
